GENERAL FORMAT:
Submit one prose piece (up to 5000 words), up to three poems, three photos, or three pieces of art. Prose should be typed double-spaced on one side in 12-point font. Photo and art reproduction submissions should be submitted in color where applicable, and we also encourage black and white submissions, but all copies should be recyclable; manuscript copies, art, and photo reproductions will not be returned. Do not send originals. We are unable to print all the pieces we receive. On pieces that we edit, authors will have the opportunity to approve all changes before publication.
RESTRICTIONS:
There is a limit of one submission per writer or artist per reading period, regardless of genre. We do not reprint previously published work.
We no longer accept mailed submissions.

All submissions must include name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number.
Step 2 Bio
In the body of your email, include a short (under 75 words) bio about yourself and any previously published work.
We are not able to accommodate the newest version of Word (.docx).
DEADLINES AND ADDRESSES:
Our reading periods (emailed by date) are:
• summer issue, January 1 through March 15
• winter issue, August 15 through October 15
NOTIFICATIONS AND QUERIES:
Notifications for the summer issue will be given by May 15.
Notifications for the winter issue will be given by November 15.
We cannot accommodate revisions or changes after the fact. We cannot be responsible for delay, loss, or damage.
PAYMENT:
We want to honor your contribution and we pay $10/printed page, $25 minimum per title, $50 maximum per author, with two copies of the issue. Often we negotiate extra copies of the journal in lieu of payment to help us with cash flow. Payment is upon publication.
