Annick Smith is a writer and filmmaker who lives in the Blackfoot Valley. Her books include Homestead and In This We Are Native. She was co-editor with William Kittredge of the anthology The Last Best Place and co-edited with Susan O'Connor the forthcoming anthology The Wide Open: Prose, Poems, and Photographs of the Prairie. Her film credits include Heartland, A River Runs Through It, and a documentary portrait of poet Richard Hugo.
